MJ Logan ~ Writer

Latest Update: September 10, 2023

MJ Logan ~ Writer reserves the right to update this policiy in the future with no more notice than to change the “Latest Update” date shown above.

By using this website in any form, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.

Who We Are

I am a freelance writer and author. I also build websites—primarily for individuals and small business owners. All the posts and pages on this website are written by me under the pen name MJ Logan. If you want to know more about me or get in touch, the main website is https://mjloganwriter.com.

I am deeply concerned with privacy issues for individuals and I respect your privacy.

Each of my websites has a similar policy, but there are differences because of the different types of content and the intent of the website.

This privacy policy applies to this website: Monday’s Muse at https://mondaysmuse.mjloganwriter.com

Comments

Most posts on Monday’s Muse don’t allow comments. If you happen upon a post that does allow comments, the data in the comments form is collected and stored in the website database.

The Automattic company that provides WordPress also offers the Gravatar service. If you post a comment, Automattic may also collect data if you use an email address associated with a Gravatar account.

In any case, where comments are enabled, they won’t be made public without moderation, and for that reason I may see some of your personal information that you included with your comment.

Media

Although rare, it sometimes happens that I allow a guest post or article on one of my websites. If you include an image, make sure you strip out any location data before you send it to me.

Cookies

I love cookies as much as the next writer, especially with a good cup of coffee. My favorite is oatmeal-raisin-craisin-pecan cookies, although sugared homemade molasses cookies are a very close second.

The electronic kind of cookie that ends up on your computer is entirely undigestible and more likely to give you heartburn rather than put a smile on your face.

I don’t use any cookies to track you, learn about you, or find out what you eat, where you live, or what you named your dog. I don’t care and I don’t want to know.

READ THIS: Somehow, we have to pay the bills and therefore, we may include Advertising and Affiliate Links on some pages of this website. Those organizations will use the data they collect to do all the things I won’t do. Any page with affiliate advertising will have that disclosure near the top of the page in full view.

Full Disclosure: If you click on an ad or purchase an item through an affiliate link, I might get a couple of pennies for a click or a small commission in return.

Embedded Content

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.).

Although I avoid using embedded content, sometimes you just can’t get around it. Youtube, for example. I have an account on Youtube and sometimes include my videos on my website.

Other websites WILL collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who We Share Your Data With

No one. Nothing about you that ends up in our database is ever given away, sold, traded, bartered, or made public. Ever.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments and the data associated with comments are kept almost forever. Since I never look at this data, or have any use for it, I also don’t have a reason to delete it.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you’re really desperate to have your comments removed, you can let us know and we will export that data, send it to you, and delete the data. That means your comment will no longer show on the website.

Where I Send Your Data

Usually nowhere. If comments were ever enabled on all posts, we might use a spam checking service to vet any comments. However, that is unlikely so your data won’t be going anywhere.
